Leatherhead North by-election

I am standing for the Green Party in Leatherhead North because I want to improve the district’s environment for the sake of our quality of life. I would make sure the Council measures and tackles poor air quality, particularly from traffic in the town and near schools. I would defend our allotments so that our local community can grow their own food and enjoy the outdoors. I would argue for affordable homes in the town, not executive mansions on our beautiful Green Belt. With a background in environmental charities I understand how to engage people in community projects and would stand up against cuts which deprive our communities – and particularly vulnerable people – of essential services and opportunities to improve their lives.  Although I live in Dorking I have volunteered at the Leatherhead Food Bank and enjoyed Leatherhead and its beautiful countryside. I would do my best to defend its special qualities.
